Supermicro 8 Port SATA 2 RAID Card

    Anyone used one of these?

    or

I've had a look for reviews, but can't find any, all that comes up is price agregators or online stores without any user reviews.

I have a XFX Revo 5 port, but don't trust it after the two drives on it in RAID-1 died within days of each other (not the same batch or model).

In the end i'm planning on having two 4 drive RAID-5 arrays, one with 500gig disks and the other probably with 750gig disks.

    Why didn't i spot that?

Thats a bugger. I knew it was software, but i guess i just assumed it was RAID5 too. Oh well.

If you find anything affordable that does RAID-5 then i'd be interested
