On second thoughts ignore me . If what clunk says is true then dont bother. What about cross fire (aimed at clunk).

Crossfire is looking more interesting since the X1950GT (is that the right number?) which doesn't use the dongle.

But the problem is, and always has been, for both x-fire and sli that it just isn't efficient enough, and it doesn't have enough support. Buy a new release game and a lot of the time your SLI/X-fire is making things worse until a patch comes out.

Then there's the complications of setup and install, etc. Just buy the latest single card instead TBH.

    So I've been shopping.

I have two tiny queries regarding RAM and my PSU below. I promise (fingers crossed) that I won't bug anyone after that. Many thanks.

    Motherboard - £130
BOUGHT! I went for the ASUS P5B Deluxe as Clunk suggested. Scan.

    CPU - £152
BOUGHT! Core 2 Duo E6400. Dabs.

    Heatsink - £37
    BOUGHT! Scythe Ninja-PLUS. eBay.

    RAM - £120?
BOUGHT! This is the only outstanding item. Can someone suggest some 2GB of suitable RAM?

    Case - £95
BOUGHT! P180 Silver Advanced Tower Case. Scan.

    PSU - £n/a
I already have a Zalman ATX Ultra-Quiet PSU 400W ZM400B-APS. Is that enough?

    Graphics - £150
    BOUGHT! MSI Passive 7900GS 256MB DDR2 PCI-E. Dabs.

    Hard Drives - 2 x £83
    BOUGHT! Samsung Spinpoint 400GB x 2.

    DVD - £23
    BOUGHT! Samsung SH-S183A.

    Monitor - £900
BOUGHT! Dell 3007WFP. ericbunny on ebay. Came recommended.

With regards the psu, I would recommend you try it first. If it doesn't work you should be able to sell that and get a more powerful one.

    IMO it should work.
