Abit Ab9 Problems

right just got my nice new conroe and abit ab9 but am having loads of problems all help appreciated


1 whenever i install software from cd/dvd it lags my system up so bad i feel like i am on a p2 cpu am using standard dvd-rw on the eide port would a sata drive sort this out

2 my soundcard is funny everytime i go on teamspeak to chat i just give everyone huge amounts of feedback even when wearing a headset

3generally system seems to be quite slow switched from amd 64 3500 to c2d 6400 haven't overclocked yet but feels a little sluggish

right did this on a fresh install of windows any ideas anyone

do you have the latest bios installed?

in windows, do you have the chipset drivers installed?

problem 1 and 3 fixed struggling with 2

has something to do with my fp audio cable not being hd so cant have it plugged in then it runs in ac97 mode instead but it is still in hd mode and dont know how to change it

done what manual said

should i download ac 97 drivers over the top of the hd ones or what
