Good for connecting sata (or sata2) drives when there aren't any free sata ports. Well the only reason to doubt it being good is that its a cheap unbranded brand
Should be fine, assuming you have a free PCI Express slot.
I could have worked that out, I though you might have had special requirements.
Yeah, I could go for a PCI one, but I was told PCI has a certain bandwidth limit for all PCI slots... so as I have my ethernet plugged in there as well then surely the HDD would be slower?
Also, can you actually boot from PCI SATA cards?

Well I have risked it anyway... I just wanted to know if anyone had an experience with these and found out that its crap (eg crap transfer rates, non functioning raid etc.)
I think it's ok, it should perform just as good as on board Sil chipset SATA controller.
