what screen res do you want to run at & detail ???

kind of dictates what graphics card to get - I would say for a gaming laptop u want one with ATImobility x1900 or Nvidia 7900 minimum - will future for a bit.
You can get some with 8800 now, but mega bucks.

I have an old DELL with an old radeon chipset - still runs CSS fine 70fps @ 800x600 albeit with details turned down a bit.

having said that - would always recomend DELL, not had any problems. Specced a similar chassis one & the unit is very nice indeed.
