I'm running at 1440x900 7900GTO territory does me fine. Games like Oblivion, games running the Quake 4 engine and I'm sure Crysis/UT3 will all have options for large texture support for cards with 512MB and above.

However, people running anything over 1680 x 1050 should really go with an 8800GTX. Personally thinking of getting the standard 640MB version of this card tbh

i know so many people who are interested in these cards its ridiculous, the fact that the bfg oc version is £199 is very good news as the oc versions are always the most expensive by £20 or so so i wouldn't be surprised if theres ones from other makes and non oc versions for around £180.

as for the "lack" of memory, 320mb can run any game out there maxed out and will continue to do so for a very long time at resolutions like 1280x1024 and below (1440x900 is actually less pixels than that so is fine).dunno why some people think dx10 will affect texture sizes.
