    Birdstrikes wouldn't happen on most single engine prop driven fighters... the prop kinda makes a mess of the bird first....

    Cant remember which book of mine its in but Ive read an account of a 109 pilot in the Middle East that hit a vulture or some other large bird ruined his view and he had to rtb
