Suggestions for good co-op PC games...?

Can anyone suggest any really good co-op games (past or present) for the PC? I'm fortunate enough to have two reasonably well spec'ed PCs at home, and a friend of mine & I often enjoy teaming up on co-op games. So far the best experiences have been with games like Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, & Borderlands 1 & 2, but I'm happy to play all genre of games (with the exception of RTS, as I'm just rubbish at them!).

    I'd welcome any ideas?

Tera - Its an MMO and became free to play recently and is considering joining a friend on it.
Demigod - Action RPG / Dota, had some fun with this in the past.

Have done the Left 4 Deads online with friends, good fun. We also played through Dead Island together, more RPG elements and a storyline - well worth a look if you like your zombie games.

To add to the zombie killing. Black ops 2 Zombies seems pretty good.

    http://www.co-optimus.com/system/4/pc.html

Lists almost all multiplayer games, and tells you if it has split screen, local or online coop, lan or online multiplayer.

I frequently use it to find games to play when friends come over. The 360 controller has yet to do much for local multiplayer in pc gaming, not that it matters to you

Re: Suggestions for good co-op PC games...?

Farcry 3 is surprisingly quite good, recommend a headset though (if you can get it to work) as its far easier being able to talk to the other player(s), some dont read the situation and go in all guns blazing when silent knife attacks are the best.
The remake of Painkiller was ooook not astonishing, no headset required just point and shoot!
BF3 was ok but incredibly short - so only get if you like playing the other elements of BF3.
MW2 coop was fun but like BF3 it is short so you would need to like the other gameplay options to make it a worth while purchase. I've not played any more recent CODs in co-op play as the series has died a death for me.

If you are looking for browser based games, ages ago there was a multiplayer bomber man really good fun.

We had an absolutely amazing co-op experience on Trine 2. So many funny moments. Thoroughly recommended if you have 2 other people to play with.

Re: Suggestions for good co-op PC games...?

Dungeon Defenders (similar to Orcs Must Die 2) is a really fast paced tower defence game with a sort of RPG progression. It often pops up cheap on Steam or in various bundles (Humble Bundle were just doing pay-what-you-want for it with all the DLC included).

If you want to try something a bit different you could look at Garry's Mod. This isn't a game as such but more a creative building experience with your friends. You can create objectives by playing a custom mod from the Steam workshop (e.g. build spaceships which can manage to fly through space!), fight against zombie hordes or race in your custom-built cars.

Otherwise, there is of course Minecraft and Terraria. These are so well known I'm pretty much sure you already know whether you love or hate these games

Dawn of War II Retribution's last stand mode is good fun for 3 players. Not a proper RTS as you only control one unit but its still very addictive thanks to be being able to try out different builds on the heros.
