I'll watch out for pesky lorries driving across the runway.
On my second solo flight I very nearly had a moment with a Tractor that was cutting the grass next to the runway - or at least it seemed like it.
Saw a picture like this a while back of a cessna that had just hit a Giraffe. If ever a picture told a story. Dead Giraffe on runway, crashed aeroplane - hmm, wonder what happened here then!

lol, took off from a farm strip once and hit a bloody sheep!.... dented the leading edge and I had to slam the anchors on sharpish... wasn't at V2 fortunately..... Farmer was less than chuffed, nor was the school as I'd knacked the plane and rendered unfit to fly....
And by strange coincidence, I now live about half a mile from where it happened!
I bet that sheep was delicious with a bit of mint thoughOriginally Posted by Deckard
There was an incident recently in which a herd of hungry cows ate an Auster at a farm strip (revenge maybe). It had recently flown the channel and they couldn't get enough of the salty flavour of the canvas.
Here's that Giraffe

I'll have to remember to add something to my pre flight checks for FB, Check run way for russian wolves or other similar animals?
