    Joysticks: Still Baffed

Yip, I've already looked at the deckard's joystick thread but, it doesn't help me much.

Heres the deal, I have a MS Sidewinder Precision 2, i love it, my bro likes it as well, but i cannot find it anywhere, and ebay is not the answer as he doesn't trust it.

According to the above joystick thread, the candidates are the Cyborg 3D Gold, the x45 nd x52...feel free to recomend any other high end joysticks by saitek you think i should know about.

Tell me what you think is the best of the three, highlighting build quality, durability, and how good it is for our beloved IL2.

x45 and x52 are complex sticks, and its up to you if you're willing to fork out that much for them. Personally I use a Saitek 3d rumble force stick, it's lost it's centre a little and i've had it for a little under a year.

I would recommend a Saitek Cyborg Evo to be honest.

Start off with something like the Evo, and if you find you REALLY want hands off kwyboard flying, go for an X45 or '52 in a while when the prices start to fall.

I've got the Cyborg Evo and at £30 it's one of the best for Quality/Value as long as you're not too serious. It's got a multitude of useful functions and buttons so it's probaly more than enough for you and your brother.

As for the build quality the Evo seems pretty well made although it tends to slip around on my desk and the rudder can feel loose at times, although neither of these things are really bad if you are really picky about those sorts of things you may want to look elsewhere and if you're not you certainly won't get much better than the Evo at that price.

x52 here. Tis a good stick but for an £80 stick it has it's problems, such as half the stock appear to have an oversized dead zone which cannot be fixed so you have to keep exchanging until you get one that works and the slider is just BEGGING to be used, but use it in IL2 with anything more than 3 stages and your stick will freeze up.
