With a release date of December this year, i would be surprised to see a elder-scrolls to surpass all others but we shall see.

It won't be that date. It's a placeholder for their system until a true date is announced. If that hasn't happened by October they'll move it to new years eve 2020.

The biggest shock they could produce would be actually overhauling their engine and not having to patch out the same bugs that have been patched out of their previous games already.

I hope it doesn't release in 2019. I'd hate to see it rushed to release like so many games lately, full of bugs and glitches that are no longer a priority to patch as the game has already (pre-)sold so many copies!
