Then you're grouping with the wrong people. If fighting is still going on, you shouldn't roll on items, simple.

Again, grouping with the wrong people. As for just rolling because you're busy fighting, if you can't wait, at least hover your mouse over an item for a split second to see if it's suitable for your class, i.e. Mail or Plate. Rolling on Leather and Cloth items will get you grief. As for those who "mooch" at the back, they are the ones dealing all the damage, not you, if you don't like them then you won't be able to do many instances.

Did the group leader set to group loot? Did you not pickup anything? Even doing WC at level 20ish got me over 1G in loot!! What were you doing, RFC?

Well I've never been in an instance with people "telling" others what to do, offering advice maybe, but not "telling". I don't think anyone from HH is that bossy...

Why tank? It's the role of a Warrior. Not your problem if Mages and Priests die? You won't be asked into instances much with that attitude. Priests keep you alive and Mages do lots of damage to the mobs you're fighting, much more than you can. Without either one in your instance group, you will die very quickly too making it a worthless trip.

Only a certain amount of people can res, if the whole party gets killed I would assume it would be very difficult to get the whole party back without some having to run back. Maybe you were just unlucky?

Maybe because it IS in your "job description". The Warrior tanks, if you don't wanna tank, try another class maybe?

Try taking on a Mage the same level as you, they'll kick your ass. Mages may not have great armor, but they can deal out a lot more damage than you can, and they have ways of stopping you from hitting them. Perhaps they're not so weedy as you think?

In SM you did though didn't you? You might have said "sorry" but you still looted before we'd finished fighting - case closed there I think.

If fighting is going on the dead bodies shouldn't be looted, then no-one can roll, not the other way round.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

I'm pretty sure I didn't. But if either FT or Stoo (they are who I remember being there) remember me doing such a thing, then I will gladly eat my shorts.

There's only one time when I'll loot when fighting is going on, but it's a very rare time too, is when I'm grouped with one of the higher level guys and we're doing an instance a few levels higher than me, purely for lootage. In SM over the weekend, Velan was doing all the fighting and very kindly letting me and his wife, Ellia, go through the loot. But as I said, that doesn't happen too often.

Anyway, this is supposed to be about tanking, not looting. Back on topic we go.

looting still happens in combat by acident. I can almost guarantee that everyone here has at some point clicked on a corpse while trying to hit the next enemy.

I rolled on a belt I didn't want and won and it was BoP. I still feel sick thinking about it now. Best I could do was sell it and give the cash to the person it should have gone to. I hope I've learn't my lesson.

I wouldnt worry about it mate. Most of us have done it at some point. It's a steep learning curve and we all know it wasn't on purpose. That's all that matters.

At the same time a lot of peeps loot items while there are dead members awaiting the REZ -------

If you are dead you dont get a roll, wait for everyone to be there before looting, "what goes around, comes around" (you could be the dead guy)

This isn't the case, I often get through 1G of arrows in a long instance, every time i feed my pet it costs me 3Silver, if we have no tank my pet dies a lot = a lot of 3 silvers......... Also I have an armour bill, although it may not be plate, mail still aint cheap

Ive often come out of an instance where Velan has been tanking, and his armour bill = My armour + pet food + Mana Drinks + Arrows

A good healer appreciates that if a tank dies, he dies, keeping the tank alive saves his skin, try an instance with AZ. Guarantee youll have fun.

If I get rezzed first, i then need to build enough mana to rez my pet, then feed pet, then apply all buffs........ then drink some more mana drink to replace what ive used....... It all takes time, A warrior needs a res, then a heal off the preist and hes ready to go ----- If your rezzed first, you may find yaself waiting around for others to become ready to move on. (situation dependant of course)
