Man , im missing my pvp nights in TM , im leveling up my eng. and mining , and that takes a lot of my time...whenever pvp is hapening in TM , give me a "ring" , i miss those fun moments.

And TIG , you are right hunters are the mass pvp kings , but up close we lack some abilities , nothing that a thorium granade cant solve

cya all of you in TM ...for kicking some butt or beeing kicked

Completly agree with Tig's summery of the pvp atm

It's not Ment to be a death message tho!

its set up so when i drop to about 50% hp it does the emote /healme thing. Then think its now at about 30-40% it does the party msg hopefully in time for healers to get a heal in Even with the % upped to thos to try and help out with the heal times I was still dead before the message was posted in the chat.

Yeah, I can manage to stay alive for about 3 seconds usually, plenty of time to kill a priest/warlock/stupid mage
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

Prob is that's like 1500 damage, which doesn't even come close to killing most targets. And in my experience they aren't going to run away, they're going to rush you.
I'm frost so it's a bit diff but I usually just spam frostbolts till they get close, then root and kite with instas. Anytime someone is below ~20% HP it's time just just go insta AE spam on them. Cone of cold is nice for kiting also.

Mana sting makes little diff to a mage or priest, we have a large enough mana pool that you don't go out of mana in most fights. It's much more of decider on hybrids like shamans and paladins due to their smaller mana pool. I find the dot sting much more annoying.

A good idea is to try and pick easy targets if you can. For a mage that means warriors, hunters, most rogues, warlocks.

1500 dmg is half almost half my lvl 55's HP, almost all of lvl 50 pugs HP, almost exactly half of Azog's lvl 49 warrior etc. Thats one person doing 50% dmg to me in sub 5 seconds. two people do that and i'm dead... and thats assuming you don't get a crit, and do something closer to 2200...

In a big fight that is imo exactly what you need to do, knock an enemy that puts himself in range for a few seconds to half health and I guarentee, you will not be the only one who decides to target them.

killing targets with 20% of their health left being all well and good only gets you 20% of the points...., Mana sting takes down 277 mana per 2 seconds... for 8 seconds.... Thats an awful lot of mana, and i think my 4200 mana pool for pvp is a lot for a shaman, even if your mana pool is 6000 at lvl 60. that is 1/6th per sting. you get a few good lvl 60 hunters pegging down the top lvl mages and priests and i'd say you've got a lot of your key pvp players down resting up to rejoin the fight.

And its not a single shot effect, i had been loaded up twice with mana sting and it sure does take effect quick....

1500 is half many people's HP yes, but 50% isn't a kill. Crits can make a difference as you say, I 4 shot a mage for 3000 total damage in 5 seconds before (2x frostbolt, fire blast, cone of cold). But that sort of thing doesn't happen often.

I don't mean wait till 20% before attacking, I mean once you have dropped someone to 20% then go insta spam.

Also doing "insta runs" can be nice for leeching - rush a group of enemies and just spam cone of cold / arcane explosion a couple of times then blink out. Oftentimes you'll be in and out fast enough that you won't take many hits and you tag everyone there for honour kills.

Depending on equip I'd say 6k is the minimum amount for a priest or mage. I have 7k typically, priests and arcane mages will have more in general (priest in my guild has topped 10k mana with buffs). Losing 1108 mana isn't going to put you out of the fight really, especially since priests can cure it and mages can regen their mana quickly with evocation.

In english - when they get near hit frost nova and run away. If you strafe rather than actually running you can cast instas on them while moving away.

Sounds good. How do you get so much mana then? 10k? That's insane!!

I'm thinking about getting the arcane talent points to increase your total mana, but I forget now what they are called and how much they give (2% IIRC). You must have an awful lot of +int eq, weapons and enchantments! What sort of buffs is that with too?

With my equipment and Arcane Intellect I have over 2700 mana at lvl 32, you reckon that will be only double at double my level, or will it be more?

10k was a priest with the +10% mana talent and something like +91 int in buffs.

I normally have around 7k as a mage, with the +8% talent that would be 7.5k or so.

A lot of it comes in from better eq, especially with some of the armour sets..
