    WoW pricing

I had a look around the WoW Europe site, but couldn't find any information about it. Is billing done through the same system as the US version? Or are they two seperate entities (like DaoC was)?

I haven't played an MMORPG in such a long time. I played UO for 4 years, then DaoC for a month, not long after it came out. I've only recently gotten that feeling again where I need something to do during the hours that everyone else is asleep.

Any answers are gratefully appreciated chaps.

If you pay electronically (credit/debit cards), I believe it is £9 a month, or less for 3 months, or less still for 6 months. Alternatively, you can buy a gamecard for £18, which will last two months, where you just enter a code online.

At least that was how it was last time I checked, which was a fair bit of time ago!

Thanks Mike, I imagined the prices wouldn't be far off the American jobs ($12.99/month for a 6-month prepaid thing). I ran out of dvds to watch, so I think WoW will be my timewaster for a while.. if I like it, of course

    Thanks again.

It's £8.99 a month. Going down to £6.something for the longer terms.

Watch it though it'll end up sapping alllll your free time... and then some

    Don't say I didn't warn you!

I play wow and watch dvds, kill 2 birds with one stone Works nicely..

It's a great game as you can play it in any state of mind - ie you can come home from the pub one night after a few too many and still manage to kill a few annoying alliance gits walking around ashenvale/barrens

The free time thing is true enough though, it's just automatic to load up wow after i've eaten in the evening..

so true i do seem to have big problems with finding myself dead at the bottom either 1 of 3 places though if i play wow drink... The great life, Thunderbluff or freewind post (i think thats the name)

I seem to like jumping off very high places and just logging off and going to sleep if ive been drinking

lol jumping off the great lift is fun though, especially when you have a few of you playing - you can all jump off and see who hits the ground first

Not as fun when you have enough HP to survive the fall though

Its fun to jump if you are a mage though see how long you can keep falling for before using the escape clause and i don't mean slow fall

    Theo,

WoW used to come with a free 10 day CD-KEY so peoples friends could play it to see if it was good and then go an purchase it at a later date.

I would send mine - but its been used, but I wonder if anyone on here would have 1 spare and would be kind enough to send it to you

If you need the game discs to install, if you get a CD Key I can borrow you mine

Slow fall is fun too though - try jumping from winterspring down into Azshara. Darnassus to Darkshore is another fun one. Or there's always Tanaris to Un'goro crater. Think you can jump off thunderbluff as horde for a big flight too.

NB: some of these flights take 5-6 feathers, so make sure you have enough.

I jumped off into 1000 needles when i was 35 and didn't need any feathers Blink ftw!

However when you say darnassus to darkshore - do you mean you can glide all the way there?

lol would be cool if that could happen ive not tried it but the hight of the tree and the distance to dakrshore seems very long, i bet u could make it a damn long way across the sea but the fatigue would catch up on you im guessing anyways.

Maybe ment jumping from felwood to darkshore?

Correct. You may get a bit of fatigue in the middle, so have a heal pot handy (I made it with 50% hp without using one though).

Darnassus is a lot higher than you think, you can go for miles. Also you'll probably need an epic mount to get enough speed to glide that far, Wintersrping to Azshara is doable without an epic mount though.

Can fraps a vid of it if you doubt it's possible.

Give that a try. It's much speeded up to keep it fairly short, actual flight took a little over 3 minutes.
Oh and please try not to thrash my bandwidth too much.
