WoW on a corporate LAN - Will it work?

OK just a quick question. Im moving offices back to my base office tomorrow and away from the client site ive been based on. This means that we have no client looking over our shoulders and can chill a bit.

Now, i have a work laptop which plays WoW very smoothly, and i have to start using that to work from in this new office. What im thinking is i can get a bit of WoW in at lunchtimes whilst at work. Now as of yet im not sure of the firewall issues but im wandering on WoWs abilities to connect to the web from behind a firewall.

As far as i can recall i have not had to alter firewall or port forwarding settings at home to make WoW work, but obviously a corporate lan will be tied down quite tight. Anyone tried this - anyone know how wow handles being in that sort of situation?

Madocks plays at work, ask him.

As for playing from behind a firewall, I have pretty much everything locked down on my hardware firewall as standard, except the usual ports, and I didn't have to alter anything.

Search the WoW forums, you can find which ports it uses. I think I may still have them written down at home somewhere!

If they are locked down then no, all you need are a few ports to be opened (I can't remember which ones) and then you can play. But these ports may already be open.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

I think Madocks plays from a personal/buisness ADSL line at work and not off the network.

As said above, if its corp then its vert likely that its locked down and you will have to get your IT department to open some ports for you (not gonig to happen )

works fine through my works firewall, which is locked down fairly tight. Didnt have to open any ports or anythin. Come to think of it i didnt have to open any ports at home on my firewall there either. Don't they only recommend you open the ports so there crappy torrent program works properly anyway.

Depends how they chose to lock down their firewall, with mine I just locked every port then just open the ones I use, if that's the case then I'm guessing they won't have the WoW ports open
