    Camera For Day-To-Day Usage

    Hey All,

I used to own a Canon EOS400D but got rid of it due to me flaking out of the hobby but i am looking for a new camera currently i am using my partners Olympus u700 which is doing the job but the quality isnt great for the blog.

What i want is something of a decent quality but that i can carry around with me all the time and just take snaps a point and shoot more than likely is what i would like.

    Thanks in advance
    Richard

    Re: Camera For Day-To-Day Usage

If you can cope with the larger end of point and shoots then the Fujifilm FinePix S1000fd is a very flexible camera, with good quality shots.

More compact would be something like a Sony W130, Canon A590IS, Panasonic LZ8.

I really like Panasonics right now. Got a TZ3 myself, my brother has a TZ5.

The LZ8 does have a higher optical zoom than most, especially in that segment of the market.

Whoopsy, saw £164 and figured he could probably stretch

    There are cheaper though: http://www.google.co.uk/products/cat...tle#ps-sellers

My mate has an Ixus and it's a great little camera - really good for something you can literally slip in a shirt pocket and carry everywhere. My current compact is a Lumix FX3 which is fab (for me anyway), it's got plenty of battery life, the image quality is more than good enough for when i need a compact and the screen is nice and sharp .

    More like it?

Just noticed the Panasonic LZ10 (higher range model than LZ8) is on offer at the moment at a few places, eg for £99:

I've not seen a proper review for it. Other Samsungs with the same sensor haven't come out too well. I think there are a raft of very low budget 10MP cameras which this also falls into - they all do the job of taking pictures suitable for printing out at 6x4 or shrinking down to web-sized viewing. You might get frustrated at things like shutter lag, limited zoom range, the odd focus issue etc.
