Hehe - always
Ironically it was this matter in the end that made me make the hard decision. When Jessops rang to tell me that my D800 had arrived I had already decided that I really don't need, and can't justify 36mp and £2400. There is nothing that my current gear can't do that a new body can. Now I just need to invest in some extra shot discipline and vision
D800 and 16-35 arrive today.
Pentax is staying with 3 or 4 lenses but spare body and a few lenses are all going.
Keeping the Pentax for bad weather walks and other occasions.
Enjoy Kushti, everyone i know who has one loves it. even though the files are a little heavy

+1 to the Enjoy.
I think it will be interesting to see if/how it changes what you post here.

lets hope that Canon's 16bit FF 46.1MPix doesn't trash it

I've got a 5dmk3 which is better
This is true, but with the patented ANY-ANGLE(tm) and VARI-FOCAL-ASPECT-ANGLE-LENGTH quantum lens technology(tm),if you drop the resolution down to a paltry 125.97MP, you can produce acceptable pictures but at a low 14FPS. However, this is not enough to get detailed pictures of the following handsome fellow:

Experienced Moose photographers have told me you need exactly 125.99MP,and this enables you to print either an A5 or a A2 picture of a Moose(any in-between does not work).
either way you still need someone in the field with a squeaky toy and blowing bubbles to make them smile.

I will stick to my old faithful D90, now a D800 is dreaming material, I need to win the lottery.
An average lens would only require around a 12MP sensor to resolve it adequately. Beyond that you're just resolving the blur of the lens, as the resolution of the lens becomes more and more the limiting factor. Further more, this is assuming perfect focus. If the focus is even off by a tiny amount, it will degrade the resolution of the lens massively and no matter how many MPs your sensor has it will not be able to resolve anything more than a webcam.
