Laptop for little sister

Hey my parents have asked me to suggest a laptop for my little sister. I don't have a clue what to suggest!

Budget is about £300-400 I imagine.
She would probably like to play sims on it
Other than that basic browsing, word processing etc.
reasonably snappy while performing those tasks


Battery life, screensize, keyboard, monitor resolution and all of those sort of things probably are not a massive concern.

Any suggestions on where to buy or what processor to go for?

I've been on the hunt for one for Uni starting back too and I'd have a look at the Dell website. Some decent options there for £400.

Yeah alot of those look good. I am just wondering though whether that Asus x55c on ebuyer for £289 can be beaten in terms of price. Like i said if it can play sims and she can browse the internet she'll be happy. I suppose I should have said closer to the £300 mark is better.

Also worth looking at the Misco site openbox products (www.misco.co.uk). I have bought a number of items from them over the years and had no problems. Note that because they are openbox (customer or manufacturer returns) they have a limited warranty but you will know if they are working OK pretty quickly

I quite like Dell's, I've had good experience with them so you shouldn't have a problem getting a dell
