    Help spec me a PSU please!

    Hey guys,

    After some advice on a PSU for my latest build, Specs so far are;

    Lian-Li Q07
    Asrock H61M-ITX mobo
    1x4GB G.Skill DDR3 1333 RAM
    i5 2500T
    64GB Samsung SSD
    500GB 2.5" WD HDD
    Samsung DVD-RW SATA

    Basically this case is very limited on space so im after some advice on what PSU would fit and not break the bank. Silverstone 500W Strider is £57 from a competitor only 140mm deep and modular, but obviously I dont need that much power for this rig so im after some ideas.

    Many thanks,

    Hawker

    How about this;

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/450w-...-quiet-fan-sfx

    I just got one as i'm building a scratch build mini itx,it is mighty small,cables are short though.Also comes with atx mounting bracket if you should need it.Also with your listed parts you could power a gpu if you so decided,just not a 590 and what not,obviously,be good for enough juice for a 6770 or 460 though.

    There's also this;

    ww.scan.co.uk/products/350w-psu-be-quiet-bn134-82-eff-80-plus-quiet-fan-matx-v32-sfx-power

    maybe more what your after.Not much choice is this segment,definatly a gap in the market.

    the lian li cases take full atx psu, you can mount an SFX psu but you need to get an adaptor plate.

    For atx http://www.scan.co.uk/products/430w-...t-fan-atx-v231 430w and modular
    Or http://www.scan.co.uk/products/500w-...iet-fan-atx-v2 500w modular + the short modular cable kit http://www.scan.co.uk/products/silve...and-other-psus (it does work with the ST50F AFAIK)

    Re: Help spec me a PSU please!

    your real PSU problem is that you only need about 100W for that build, so anything you buy is going to be massive overkill - if you get a 500W PSU you're never going to get it above 20% load so it's always going to be in the low end of its efficiency curve. My advice would be to buy as low a wattage PSU as possible: how about an Antec VP350 or a Huntkey 300W 80+ Gold?
