As this forum has proved time and time again it's just not the case. You end up with short comments along the lines of "APPLE IS BETTER BECAUSE SAMSUNG SUCKS" or other such nonsense. It becomes impossible to pick out the people who actually know the subject at hand against those who don't, but post short comments.

This is the reason so many of us link to previous posts on the subject where questions have been answered in depth by some very knowledgeable users.

Ok stupid fanboy comments are pointless and spoil a lot of threads but if 10 people all say I use x and its great then that has more weight.

10 people with a "Use X product" comment, or one well thought out, explained post? Give me the latter any day.

    As posted in Agents signature:

    Unhelpful posts:
When a product has a known flaw that's posted about all over the web, posting "But mine works fine guys"

The current CX range of Corsair PSUs are good examples of why its worth taking note of this point. A lot of people buy them, and they do work OK in the majority of basic circumstances, but the reality that has been proved by respected reviewers is that there are better units available for the price-point. The intricacies of this very valid point have been explained by Watercooled, CTF, Pob and others including source information and recommendations for alternatives.
Sorry but im with Agent on this one buddy.

Point taken, its hard to argue against what you guys say. It's how I like to find info out but everyone is different. I tend to see what people are recommending then go off and read lots of reviews..

Re: Should you only buy Corsair power supply's?

In my main rig I'm using a cooler master gx 650w. There are far higher specced psu's out there but this one works fine. I also use a rather old enermax noisemaker 470w psu in another system which has served me well for many many years. I think like any component just do a bit of research before buying, regardless of brand.

Re: Should you only buy Corsair power supply's?

Corsair don't make their own power supplies.

They get other manufacturers to make their models for them. Such as Channel Well, Seasonic, Chicony and Flextronics. Which one it is depends on which model you buy.

Yes, that is correct, we do not manufacture our own PSU BUT we need to keep in mind that, our OEM only manufactures it for us, meaning all they do is follow our design and spec to the letter. That being said, it does not matter who made it for us.. the core performance and design of the PSU is still made by us.

Re: Should you only buy Corsair power supply's?

there are other good psu's from other companies. It's depends on the OEM imo though. Cooler Master's V Series psu's are great. XFX psu's are also pretty good. and there is also Seasonic themselves who OEM for lots of companies including Corsair. im currently using a Corsair HX650 (from Seasonic) and couldnt be happier.
