No ban for speeding V-sign biker

BBC NEWS | England | Beds/Bucks/Herts | No ban for speeding V-sign biker

Patrick Sheehan-Dinler, 29, from Hertfordshire, was captured 65 times by the same 30mph speed camera as he reached speeds of up to 88mph.
He should have been instantly banned. What a joke.

Offences of this nature divert valuable police time, where officers could be investigating serious offenders and offences
Then why the hell didnt they ?

And why the bloody hell hasnt he been banned for many years ? The system does not make any sense.

    A5183 - Google Maps

30mph limit may be a little harsh for most of that road.. just the villigy bits..

He knew the camera was there.. and that makes the whole speeding thing a bit irrelevant.. whats the worst sentence you can get for sticking two fingers in the air at an object?

So if you consider he probably done it when it was quiet, and any decnt bike can do that speed in a very short distance, there is nothing to suggest he was driving purposely in a dangerous manner, other than 50meters either side of the camera.. which Is probbly placed quite sneakily anyway. The ones in Crawley are.

    The system is ****e.

Whilst I agree that he should have been banned; Speeding is one thing, but intentionally trying to fruig the system so as not to get caught?...

Could this be a case that the camera is just a waste of space?

If he has *safely* (?) speed passed it that many times (it hurts when you come of a motorcycle, even at low speed), what's the point of the camera if not to generate revenue?

He escaped a driving ban, but got a 6 month suspended jail sentence and 200 hours community service. Given that his crime seems to have been deliberately speeding past one particular camera in order to set it off, rather than consistent dangerous driving (riding) per se, that seems fair to me. Or even not that fair, given that I greatly dislike traffic enforcement cameras.

Re: No ban for speeding V-sign biker

So, he purposefully speeds past a camera in order to set it off, but dont forget theres also the falsification of info given to the DVLA.
This doesnt prove anything about the crap placement of cameras, we already know that there moneymakers and no replacement for actual traffic cops but the entire system has been made a mockery of, its not like he's just broken 1 law here...
