they just need to use QUOTE a bit more. the top bit is a quote from my post. i made the statement on the basis of the following:

I am saying the more people watch the more they get used to it and if a lust for violence is what you got then you will likely look for more of the same.

no that would not be sensible. The issue is very deep and it very complicated. Even if 1% of people act out their violent thoughts, its 1% too many and I would argue the more you watch, the more tolerant you are going to be it and more likely you are to crossing the line?

short version: watch porn, become rapist.

worth noting is that the report made by the previously linked anti-sex feminists actually directly contradicted the "porn means rape" argument, but the government are doing their usual & reporting the direct opposite as fact

The government has promised to "use the legislation wisely", but if this was really the case, why did they go with such an overly broad definition? As someone who has been a formal rule maker in other places, I know the dangers of such things

Besides, when has the (or any) government *ever* used arbitrary powers 'wisely'?.. More civil rights have been stripped since Labour than throughout WWII. They promised to not to raise taxes, yet that turned out to be a complete lie, tax rates went up with each budget, well above the rate of inflation (even though input revenue would go up *with* the inflation with population income & expenditure), and introduced countless stealth taxes, encouraged and participated in unmanageable borrowing and spending, causing excessive artificial inflation which is why we're screwed now. Labour promisses are made to be broken, all the warning signs were there before '97 elections with their so clearly bollocks 'new labour' spamming. I want to meet every idiot who ever voted for those clowns and smack them around. This new law simply serves to reinforce my disdain for Gorden 'fingers in the cookie jar' Brown and his cohorts.
