Giving Sperm

just read and replied to the blood topic here, it got me thinking, do any of you guys give your man juice ot the companies? or do others see it as weird knowing you could have walked past some mother in the street with a baby that could be your son/daughter?

what are your views? is it right? wrong? immoral?


p.s. this is my first thread here as i dont oftne stray from the hardware, bragain and forsale forums, so please dont be harsh if i put it in a bad way

I don't think there is any morality problem with doing it, just whether you could cope with the scenario you just described.
One thing that annoys me and the reason i'll never do it is that you are not guaranteed anonymity.

I don't see any moral problem with doing it...you help people who can't normally have kids to have them. But the anonimity thing would stop me for sure, esp now it's becoming a bigger issue. I dont think either the company or the children should have the right to contact an ex donor, except if there are mitigating circumstances (rare genetic illness etc...)

I've done it , but I think it was for research rather than fertilty ( at least I hope so , one Moby is bad enough )

It was at the hospital on the way back to the car park at uni - You got paid £20 expenses... I seem to remeber thinking at the time that I was probably going ot be doign it anyways , so why not get paid £20 notes and help further medical science !

sweet lol, if only they could find some way to market it with giving blood so peopel woudl do it for the money, but the company would get two valuable reources. it seems a sort of taboo subjeect cos if a dude liek checks hi account to see if anyone has checked out any units of his stuf, and they havent it would be pretty mean, but he would have cash for nothing really.

I think the government should guarantee the option of anonymity TBH.

I wouldn't do it because I'd feel guilty about inflicting my offspring on any unsuspecting women. If my wife and I have kids it'll be fair enough, she'll know the risks, but it'd be a bit harsh if some mother paid a few thousand for IVF and the kids turned out like me....

On a more serious note,

I would not, at present, donate my man custard, due to the aforementioned anonimity issue. I'm sure a while ago I heard that it may be possible to pursue the fathers for maintenance etc.....
