Smoking in public should be banned unless in smoking only areas. I dont see why i should put up with the inconvenience (smoke smell) possible health risks etc just because some people are hooked on this dirty habbit

On the subject I reckon that indoor smoking in public places such as shopping centres should definately be banned, but if smoking areas are set up in restaurants and pubs im not against that because smoking is a part of pub and/or eating culture in England. Outdoors is a tricky issue, im sure it does not cause much damage to other people because of the wind factor but maybe no smoking zones should be set up (like alcohol free zones already in many places) these could be near bus stops, schools, playgrounds etc.
Yeah, thats the way I see it working as well. Only designated areas. Seems to me that I don't go round pissing and crapping everywhere and on everyone. This is also a health hazard and leaves a bad smell in your clothes (er..not that i...would...know...or anything....ahem)

Also from reading all the posts here it seems that everyone is in general agreement that it should be made law. Altho some people think that it would be inconvienient, I think everyone would soon adjust, and the considerate smokers wouldn't have anything to worry about anyway (if they are indeed what they say they are).

It seems to me that there is no plausable valid argument against this going through. Go Labour!
