I bought this switch this week from Scan for £32:

It's small (about 5 inches tall standing on the little stands) and follows the tried and trusted design that Netgear have been using on many of their consumer products for many years - i still think that its smart and purposeful.

Installation was so simple - no installation as such, just 5 ports, you grab some ethernet cables and shove-em-in

The lights (labelled 1 to 5) are back-lit, and very helpfully show up orange if it detects a 100 MBit/S connection, and green if it's connected at 1000 Mbit/S speed.

And that's it. Instant Gigabit connection on my home network - no headaches, hassles or set up, and lovely transfer speeds.
