Q6600 rig is in bits ATM and it was running Vista too,so not sure if the benchmarks would be useful!

Here is a comparison of an A6-3650 and a Q6600 though:

Its really hard to say overall as they trade blows.

hmmm this is making the choice to ditch the shuttle and build this rig up in a new case (see the other thread) a lot harder.

It got my attention too when I was reading this thread.

It looks a nice combination, These APU's with an mATX board. I'm pleased to see it uses UEFI.

Yep I think my Ion is about to go in the bin and be replaced with a A6 or A8 these units really are great value and fine for 720p or lite gaming and nice for media in just the way stuff like Ion isn't.

A little update. The system has been running for the last year as the main PC for one of the family. The SSD was replaced by a 500GB F3 I had going free and I used the following FSP PSU:

    http://www.cclonline.com/product/982...t-OEM/PSU0486/

I installed Windows 8 onto it and it still seems snappy in day to day usage a year later. I did some power consumption measurements, and with some web browsing it is at around 35W to 45W and running Torchlight it consumes around 80W to 85W.
