    Advice on SB build

    Hello all,
I'm putting together a Sandy Bridge build to update my current Core 2 Duo setup [Intel E6600, Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, 4Gb DDR2, Abit Aw9d-Max, AMD 5770 512Mb, Corsair 620HX, Dell U2410]
and would be grateful on any feedback
Usage will be mainly for games [BF3, Skyrim etc.], but also for office work, web deving, image editing and hooking up my camera to store/sort photos.

So far I'm looking at the following:

    Intel Core i7 2600K CPU - £236.39
Be Quiet! Dark Rock Advanced CPU Fan - £39.90
    Asus P8Z68-V PRO Motherboard - £137.99
    760W SeaSonic X760 PSU - £133.16
    8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR3 XMS3, PC3-10600 (CAS 9-9-9-24, 1.50V) - £44.16
    Corsair Obsidian Series 650D Case - £119.99
Cherry G85-23100 eVolution STREAM XT Keyboard - £17.46
Crucial M4 128Gb SSD - [ca. £170 from amazon, but will be using gift certificates to pay for this]

[I already have an AMD 5770, so I'll be reusing this for a few months until I pick up a new card, probably an Nvidia 560ti, an AMD 6950 2Gb or the equivalent then].

I already have a decent mouse, speakers, 1Tb Western Digital HDD, 1.5Tb WD and monitor, so these aren't needed [but the keyboard is getting a bit old, hence the cherry keyboard in the list above].

What are your thoughts on the above build? Could I improve it within the budget? [£750, not including the SSD or the GPU later on]. Bearing in mind I'm looking to order sometime this coming week.
I priced the above components up on Scan's Today Only page, which came to £731.85, so nicely within what I'm looking to spend.

    Thanks for looking.

Looks good, but you could get away with a 650W Corsair HX Series (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/650w-...-12v-120mm-fan) for £91.98 or even a 560W Seasonic X-560 (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/560w-...2v-fan-cooling) for £101.47.

Also, while I'm going to get that same ssd, all reviews I have read the OCZ Technology 120GB Vertex 3 http://www.amazon.co.uk/OCZ-Vertex-2...2643115&sr=8-1) comes out tops, but at £197.79 it is a fair bit more expensive and less real estate than the m4.

    Hope you enjoy your build.

Should be able to continue using the current HX620w

and personally I think the i5 2500k £160 is far better value for money http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel...che-95w-retail

The PSU I was looking at isn't much more expensive and seems worth having a little extra headroom.
So far as SSDs I'm pretty happy with the Crucial as it doesn't seem to have all of the Sandforce issues and is about what I wanted to pay.

The old PC will be used as a backup/not sure yet once I purchase a new GPU to replace the current 5770 I'll be poaching from it, so I can't really use the Corsair PSU.
I do agree the i5 is clearly better value, but I'll regret not getting the i7 if I go for the i5, unfortunately (buyers remorse, perhaps?).
