    Mah Computer

    http://www.scan.co.uk/savedbasket/fd...17224265245df3.

I plan on playing (possibly) both Crysis games, Battlefield 3, and... maybe Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad.

This should do the job, right? I aimed for a computer that still allowed me to work, but game when I wanted to.

    Re: Mah Computer

I would look at the suggestions in this guide:

    http://forums.hexus.net/pc-hardware/...er-2011-a.html

If you want a high end AMD based computer I would wait a few more weeks until Bulldozer is released.

The higher end computer in the guide will actually cost less than the one you have listed.

The FX4120 quad core probably will be around the same price as a Phenom II X4 980 AFAIK.

I'll keep an eye on it. What's wrong with the 980 I have now?

Its a good CPU but the similarly price Intel Core i5 CPUs are much faster. On top of this the £80 to £90 Phenom II X4 955BE is essential the same CPU. You can just raise the multiplier on the 955BE and get a 980BE!!

Also,I would get a 900 series motherboard too.

    Re: Mah Computer

If you don't need Crossfire I would get this 970 motherboard:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-...e-20-(x16)-atx

This 990X motherboard does Crossfire and SLI at PCI-E 2.0 8X/8X and is meant to be great for overclocking:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-...e-20-(x16)-atx

Both motherboards seem to have similar VRM sections.

    Re: Mah Computer

    I think I'll just get the 970.

Like I said unless you intend to get a cheap CPU like the Athlon II X3 455 or even a Phenom II X4 955BE,I would wait until Bulldozer is released.

I'll have to see what happens.
