Of course since you have a large budget, the 670 will give you better frame rates, and may do a better job in Rome 2 when it is released next year.

The 680 is a waste of cash and the 7970 is barely above the 660Ti in that particular title.
Well I think the 670 will last me longer. my gtx 460 didn't last long before i couldn't play games at max settings.

What is your speaker setup?? Is it for music or games??

What keyboard and mouse do you have ATM??

These are a good combination if you don't want to spend loads:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/logit...on-3600dpi-usb

You can easily spend well over £50 on a keyboard especially if you want a mechanical one and/or a display. Also, with a mouse, what you choose is dependent on how you grip the mouse and whether you want weights, etc.

You have the GTX460 768MB,which had a reduction in ROPs,memory bandwidth and VRAM compared to the 1GB version which does not help.

Are you going to get a dedicated monitor for the system or keep using the TV?? A wired mouse and keyboard is useful in FPS games, especially online as there will be less lag. However, for your setup it would be more inconvenient.

Not sure what do about your sound setup though. What you could do is connect your TV upto a surround setup,ie,dedicated surround amp,etc and then connect your computer through that.

Alternatively you could get a decent soundcard and run it through a set of surround computer speakers.

It depends on whether you want better sound quality or convenience.

Yeah eventually I was planning to get a new monitor for my pc, just for now its been more convenient to use my tv. so a sound card and speakers is something I would look into as well. I don't really know what set up is better for sound quality though. Pc speakers or surround sound for my tv

    What TV do you have?

A dedicated separates system would be better though, although it will be more expensive than using some computer speakers. Also is size a concern??

If you are looking for a reasonable quality computer speaker setup, this seems to get good reviews and is not too expensive:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/logit...x-wii-and-more

One of these soundcards would do the trick:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-...rofile-bracket

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-...rd-low-profile

Alternatively you could use the coaxial or optical output on your motherboard to a surround amplifier. This one seems to get good reviews for its price:

    http://www.richersounds.com/product/.../sony-strdh820

You can then connect it up to some surround speakers.

Here are some compact ones which get reasonable reviews:

    http://www.richersounds.com/product/...ann-sfx5.1-blk

    http://www.richersounds.com/product/...ndware-xs-se-b

A full sized speaker setup will probably have advantages in the midrange and base extension, but these tend to cost more.

Of course demo the equipment before buying it.

I'm not sure why you'd want the 3570K in that case? The improvement is only going to be in the 10-15% range, with maybe a bit of power-saving. I'd be inclined to keep your 2500k, & buy a top graphics card (or pair of cards!).

I think i'll keep it simple and just get some pc speakers and start thinking about getting a new monitor. But both of those can wait my current set up is fine for games for the time being.

And at 1st I was going to sell my current pc and just get a new one but upgrading should allow me more freedom in what I can buy.

It has an IPS panel too,so it has good viewing angles. If you want an adjustable stand this is a bit better:

Re: Up to £1000 to spend on a new gaming pc

Well I think I've got an idea about what parts to get now thanks to everyone's help.

This went down in price and pretty much matches the samsung now,

Worth changing or just stick with the build that was posted before?.

The M4 is pretty good, but the 830 has the edge in speed IIRC.

    Edit!!

The Viewsonic is available from Ebuyer:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/337439-viewson...edium=products

With Amazon you can get Nectar points and with Ebuyer you can get cashback from Top CashBack and Quidco.
