    Question Haswell mATX Build

So I went to Scan's "Haswell Overclocking Day" yesterday and had a right blast!
I also won an Asus z87 Rampage VI gene

So what I want to ask you, as I build a new system around it should I:

Keep my H100 and buy the Corsair 350D (Front panel Disk drives look silly to me with them not being flush with rest of front panel) along with the 4670k

    OR

Sell my case and my H100, to buy a Silverstone FT03B (With slim optical blu-ray drive) and a Corsair H80i? (Also are the stock fans louder than Silverstone's AP121 fans / Alpenfohn Wing Beast 120mm?)

Anyone use any of these cases and have any "words to the wise" or info I won't find in a review that I really should know about?

    Thanks guy and much love

    Re: Haswell mATX Build

Most likely I will be buying a Silverstone FT03B (With sound dampening material, from Overclockers UK), 4670k, 8gb Corsair Vengeance LP RAM & a Corsair H80i
Anyone here built a similar system (especially a H80i in a FT03B?) and have any info I should know?

    Thanks!

    Re: Haswell mATX Build

I have a Haswell build in a Corsair 350D and I love it.

I didn't think the optical drive looked too bad at all, although it's currently in another machine, not sure if I will put it back in or not.

    Re: Haswell mATX Build

If you wanted to keep the h100 then have a look at the Fractal design Arc mini r2 (not the midi) the one thing fractal design has done with these is to offset the top 120mm fan mountings so a 240 rad will hang down over the motherboard but not obstruct it

That said I do love the FT03 and after seeing in in person I love it even more, is such a great looking case.
Remember you need slim slot loading optical drive not just a slim optical drive, the only one I know of is the panasonic one made for silverstone that's massively expensive
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/silve...y-burner-black
you're better off with just a dvdrw http://www.scan.co.uk/products/hp-to...-for-notebooks

All the corsair i variant all-in-one coolers use the new corsair fans which are far better than the old OEM fans supplied with their all-in-one coolers.
Scan has got a good deal on the older H70 with the new fans http://www.scan.co.uk/products/corsa...diator-scan-ex not as good as the H80i but good value for money, be fine for stock and some overclocking.

    Re: Haswell mATX Build

Pob I was looking at a Sony slot loading blu-ray for £40.

I will take a look at that case though thanks for the suggestion!
I just wanted to make it nice and small though, I don't want a case that is similar size to my 400r...

I wanted an i variant cooler so I could get the rubber tubing, as the FT03 is small I don't want to kink the coils on the original H-series coolers

    Thanks guys

    Re: Haswell mATX Build

Tell use how the build goes if you can contemplating picking up an ft03s and a h80i, then replacing all the fans with Noctua fans so it can be beautiful and silent.

    Re: Haswell mATX Build

I am right on the verge of buying the case and H80i and to build my system... I am torn between a TJ08E with standard Blu-Ray drive or an FT03B (with sound dampening from overclockers) at twice the price almost... Don't think I can afford the FT03 so I will get the TJ08

Is the Mini r2 actually out yet though? I can't find it anywhere, even though it's listed as released on their site.

Wait until middle of August mate. The new Bitfenix Prodigy M is out then. It's the same size has the current Prodigy, but the interior has been rearranged enough to fit a mATX board.

That looks like an especially nice case, will keep an eye out for it

    Re: Haswell mATX Build

Preed - I wanted to do that but then if I had a H100i in the roof I wouldn't be able to have a blu-ray drive in the front... And I wouldn't want to put a H80i in the roof either...

If they hade made the case slightly taller and maybe made the feet on the bottom more stable I would buy it in a heartbeat

    Re: Haswell mATX Build

Right now I am stuck between the TJ08-E with a H80i
    OR
    the PS07B with a H100i

    Such decisions!
