    Re: First Build New Haswell

It says in the box of specifications that it isnt haswell compatible however as the xfx website says that they are so I think it should be okay. Even if it isn't compatible, I guess i could just disable that feature.

I think it probably just means that they haven't checked it for compatibility yet.

    Re: First Build New Haswell

im opting for the msi z87 g45 for my haswell 4770K build, I thought it seemed a good purchase don't want wireless and paired it with an msi gtx770 so I think it will work well.

    Re: First Build New Haswell

Okay I think i've decided on all the components I need but I would like some help with cables and things which I'd need for the build. Do I need to buy additional cables for anything or extra parts? Thanks for any help you can give as im finding it hard to see what actually comes with all of the items.

Any cables you need should be included, everything you need should be included really.

Okay thanks, just being a bit paranoid that i'd start building it and realize that I don't have something that I need.

You can just go for an i5 and buy a better graphic card if your
    making a gaming rig

    Re: First Build New Haswell

Just saying thanks to everyone who posted for your help. The components arrived yesterday and after a few hours of nervous building, its now all up and running

In the end, I decided to go with the components below.

    CPU: I5-4670k
    CPU COOLER: Hyper Evo 212
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Jet Black Low Profile 8GB 1600Mhz
CASE: Fractal Design Arc Midi R2
    PSU: XFX 650W PRO
    SSD: Samsung 840 120GB SSD
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
    MOTHERBOARD: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
    GPU: MSI GTX760 Gaming
OPTICAL DRIVE: The LG £15 one on scan
    OS: Windows 7 Professional
    SPEAKERS: Logitech Z120

If anybody in the future has any questions to ask about the build (e.g. advice if theyre building a similar build), i'll try my best to answer
