    Re: First Build Jitters

I'd take a serious look at the Xeon E3-1220 V2 although it's based on the older ivybridge not the haswell, it's basically the i7 3770 without the ondie gpu and reasonable value for money.
Alternatively look at the E3-1230 v3 for £190ish, it's slightly slow than the i7 4770 (non-k) (3.3ghz vs 3.4ghz) without the ondie gpu but around £40 cheaper.

You're using a graphics card so the ondie gpu really isn't that much use.

quick sync? 3rd monitor? IIRC you can run discreet GPU and local monitors. useful for debugging POST + startup problems if nothing else

    Re: First Build Jitters

Quick Sync is really for fast jobs only.
3rd monitor can be run on discreet GPUs too (if you have 3 monitors).
Debugging on an non-OC machine with big brand components should be a non-existent activity.

    Re: First Build Jitters

I'd definitely stretch it to at least a GTX660 and add a SSD

    Re: First Build Jitters

From all reports I've read Quick sync is fast but the quality isn't great.

Triple monitor support can be done on a single gtx650ti, games are going to struggle unless you run a very low detail/resolution over all 3 but you couldn't run any game over 3 monitors if one of them in on the ondie gpu anyway.

Yes you do lose the fall back option of the ondie gpu if something goes wrong with the graphics card, but you're still saving £40 which would be better spent on a better graphics card or towards an ssd.
