    Bios Update and Overclocking

    Hi,

Ok Ok, i know the Mantra, if its working fine leave it alone.......

But i have one teenyweenie problem with some USB devices vanishing. Namely a SATA drive dock, that i use to store all my ISO movie rips before converting to MKV, basically it will just vanish as a device and untill the whole system gets a full hard switch off, it doesnt come back....

So i can see there is quite a few bios revisions out there past the one im on, so was wondering if i update the bios, that could totally mess up my otherwise perfectly working system......???

I know - Leave it alone....;-)

    Re: Bios Update and Overclocking

    Hi

The Bios update would more than likely erase all the Overclocking profile and the Standard profile, if you need to update the bios check that you have all the bios settings saved, we generally save the settings but I cant confirm this till I get in work tomorrow email me your Invoice and build to

    systemsupport@scan.co.uk

I will look into it in the morning

One thing to note are you using Raid or Ahci? If the system is raided or set to ide mode most board will only detect an extra drive that has been plugged in to SATA or Esata after a reboot but USB devices should be fine, make sure you havent changed any of the power saving features including the USB Selective Suspend mode in the advanced options

Have a look at my guide on Windows 7 and Overclocking at the top of this forum

    Regards

    Ben
