Lightbulb Fixed Reboot Loop (by CLR_CMOS), Need BIOS Settings!

So after all the issues I had with my 3XS build time and delivery I finally had my PowerDAW up and running in a way that I wanted. Dual booting with Win7 64 and WinXP with AHCI drivers yada yada.

Good good. But last night, disaster! The system wasn't recovering from sleep, simply in a loop of powering up for about a second, then failing.

At first I thought it was a power supply failure, but investigation online revealed that this was a problem with recovery from sleep on overclocked systems. I successfully cleared the CMOS settings and got my system up and running again.

However, after setting the obvious settings in the BIOS (load optimised defaults, SATA in AHCI mode etc.) I'm wondering what other settings SCAN may have set in the BIOS to optimise my system to be a DAW? What are the recommended settings for this?

    Mobo: GByte GA-P67A-UD3
    Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K

    Thanks.

    Hi Stomski2

Please be aware that on an overclocked system you have to leave the power saving features disabled, for this reason we have saved 2 Bios profiles on your 3XS System

Profile 1 is Standard - You can use Power Saving Features
    Profile 2 is the Overclock

If he bios gets reset please restart the system and tap Del to enter the bios

Press F12 and load the required profile
Please make sure before you do this you unplug and external drives , smartphones etc as these can affect the boot order

If the system is a Daw Audio System you can load the 3XSAudio Profile in the Bios (there will only be one profile if not Overclocked)

If you have modified the Power Scheme and need to reset it please use the zip file off the link below

    Regards

Re: Fixed Reboot Loop (by CLR_CMOS), Need BIOS Settings!

If memory serves me correctly there was only the single Standard profile, no mention of the overclock profile (as expected for the DAW).

When I recovered the system it looked like it restored a backup of the BIOS, so could this have cleared the 3XSAudio Profile? Or is it named the same as the default?

Just for my reference though, what are the BIOS settings tweaked for your DAWs? I noticed the on board sound was disabled (unsurprisingly as most will likely use low latency firewire/usb2 sound cards these days), but what else?

Also, I presume it's a good idea to keep my BIOS flashed up to date?

    Thanks for the info.
