I was wondering if someone can help me with this.
I just attempted to pair a wireless headset with my PC via BT - nothing unusual, just a normal bluetooth pair. The problem seems to have started when Skype tried to access the BT device. Suddenly Skype stopped responding and then for no reason, the device software was no longer properly installed on my BT device (which was perfect prior to this).
I have restarted my PC and the BT icon is suddenly very absent. In device manager, I now have an "Unknown Device" in the USB controllers. I am assuming this is the BT device as all other devices are present and accounted for with no "!" on them. I have tried installing the BT software form the disc, I've tried uninstalling the device and scanning for changes and it keeps telling me that "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date" as an "Unknown device".
Looking at the driver details, it tells me that no driver is installed for said "Unknown device". I am in the process of downloading drivers from the Asus website, but I'm not too confident that this will work. I don't seem to have roll back set up on my PC yet (D'oh) so I have no idea what to do.
Any help would be hugely appreciated!
BTW I just checked the back of my PC and the light on the BT device is on. Don't know if that helps.
Thanks
Simon Stewart
P.S. I'm guessing you'll know details from my system build in my profile.
