    Crashing with Pink screen???

I have had my system for about 3 months now and I am occasionally getting my system crash and lock up with a pink screen???

I am using the latest Nvidia Windows 64bit Driver (296.10) and the rest of my system is completely up to date.

At the time I had Google Chrome open and was watching a tutorial video on Youtube.

I have attached a picture to demonstrate the issue that I am having. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Regards,

    Kieran.

    Re: Crashing with Pink screen???

    Hi

Have you tried a new cable as it may be a fault with the cable and it looks like its frozen as it saves the last image on the screen, try turning the monitor off and back on to confirm

    Regards

    Ben

    Re: Crashing with Pink screen???

I can confirm that this is not a cable issue. The mouse will move for a few seconds before it totally locks up and then the Caps Lock and Num Lock will not work after.

I work in IT in the City and this is always the way that I can tell if a system has crashed or not.

    Re: Crashing with Pink screen???

I have same problem as kieranbowley.

I have brand new computer and I am finding this problem since first day. Sometimes it does not happened, but once-twice a day it take a place.

I'm convinced, that the pink screen and inevitable crash is happening only when I'm on internet via Mozilla Firefox (12.0) and with maximized window.

I have also same build of graphic driver 296.10 but 32bit.

Today pink screen occurs more frequently and almost in every case it was, when I pressed button for going to previous webpage.

I am not your customer, but I was looking some solution on web and I found this one, which is the same, what is happening to me. If something of what I wrote can be used to help kieranbowley, maybe it can help me also.

Thanks for writing solution (when you find one) here.

Use the query system on scan's website, best way of finding support.

    Re: Crashing with Pink screen???

Did the pink screen start after upgrading to the latest Nvidia drivers by any chance?

    Re: Crashing with Pink screen???

No its happened with this driver and the previous driver. Had my system since February, it happened a couple of times back then and has happened quite a bit since. I didn't think much of it but it keeps happening and is getting quite worrying and annoying.

    Re: Crashing with Pink screen???

I have heard of this problem many times over the last few years and its generally down to the GPU overheating or a faulty PSU. Hopefully Scan will sort it soon for you.

Well I hope its not over heating as I have a water CPU cooler and extra fans. I was only watching a You Tube video at the time.

I will download some Sys Monitoring software when I get home. HWiNFO is a good place to start I think.
