Preparing to buy a system... To H20 or not?

    Hi all!

Hope everyones good on this warm summer's day

So, Im about to buy a gaming rig..

I've not yet decided between a I7 X58 or a Tian Di Hui.

Let's say money isn't the biggest factor

I'd normally build my own system but after my last one blew up and I lost the receipts I'd rather just spend the extra for peace of mind.

What I can't decide is do I really need watercooling on a clocked I7 920?

I want reliability, I want sustainability, and I do NOT want lots of fan noise because this will be sitting in my bedroom.

That said, the Tian di Hui seems to come with a lot of attached to it, and I don't want UFO's trying to land on my front lawn!

Ill be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of the cases of these systems, I much prefer the sleek elegant Lian Li's.

The Tian Di Hui is probably the nicest looking case, but in my bedroom I dont want a big lighting affair in there. Or do I?

Power consumption is an issue, I don't want to be drawing 2 kilowatts on a daily basis.

Oh I've forgot to mention what this system will be used for..

    Games...

And specifically Star Trek Online if it ever gets released!

So, can you help me put my system together? Maybe a slightly mod'd I7 or Tian di Hui?

I want 3d vision and I don't want to stray much above 3k so what can you recommend?

    Cheers

    Riz

    Hi Riz,

We custom build every system that leaves scan, we can customise it however you like.
    your after

We can offer watercooling on a Lian Li case if you like, just let me know which one.....if your after a super quiet over clocked 920 then I would recommend some watercooling (we can swap all the lights for sound proofing).

Im going to have a think about this over night and get back to you with some more ideas.... feel free to post up or email me at philipp@scan.co.uk with any further questions.

    Cheers

    Hi Phillip,

I ended up putting my order in last week.

I ordered a custom I7 without the watercooling.

I also ordered the Nvidia 3d Vision, Name on the invoice should be Jamie Kynaston.

If its still going to be a while for the system is there any chance I can get the Nvidia 3d vision sent out beforehand? Or maybe come and collect it?

Kicking myself for not ordering it seperately

    Cheers Phil,

    Jamie
