    Re: new pc

Have a look Here Scan have a good range of i7 system's that you can buy as standard or you can just click configure, and then customize as you wish.

Edit, tho since your posting in 3xs support, im guessing you already know about above, my bad, sry.

Yes, e-mail, call, or even use the query service on the site, I have found them to be very helpful.
Also don't give up on this thread just yet, the hexus crew are very knowledgeable too, im sure someone will be along soon with some specification suggestions.

If you want the general opinion of Hexus members, you might be better off posting the question in the Hardware forums. However, if you are asking Scan for their opinions on the machines and components they sell, this is the place to do it!

one difficulty i can see, is that if you're talking june 2010, there might be a ton of new products to pick from - the tech moves so quickly

Indeed, i started planing the purchase of a new system about 5 months ago. I have had to revise it several times since then. However i am glad of the time, gave me chance to do a little research.

    Hi PAULRYAN52

Found a case that you may want to look into

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Search.aspx?q=LN27295

I picked this case for you for one reason
The fascia opens up on a double hinge, allowing it to sit flush with the side panel. This not only looks much tidier, but is also safer than having it sitting open at some awkward angle

    Re: new pc

Off the top of my head, for a quiet case with a door, as well as the Antec P193 that RECON suggests above, there's:
    • The Antec P183, similar to the 193 but no big side fan (less cooling, but quieter)
    • Antec Sonata (smaller case if size is an issue, but only comes with one 120mm fan and space for a second)
    • Silverstone Kublai (another smaller case with twin 120mm fans)

    Re: new pc

thanks all, i am just doing research, i am buying pre built so was wondering what options scan think i should go for, regarding cases i am not limited on size so would prefer something bigger than my current case i want it to be as silent as possible but keeps components cool, here are few i like the specs of but not keen on looks

    Coolermaster HAF 932
    Antec Twelve Hundred

    i prefer clean lookin cases

i can recommend the Silverstone Kublai which Zoso mentioned, my wife's pc (was a fixed spec 3XS machine) uses it, and it's a fantastically quiet and solid case. Got that understated power look.

    Re: new pc

A lot of high air flow cases avoid door's because of air flow restrictions, the antec p193 is probably the best you'll get.

Others are the door version of the Silverstone TJ10B
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Silve...d-Frontal-Door
    Coolermaster RC-1000 V2 Cosmos
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Coole...r-Case-w-o-PSU
and always the old stacker 830
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Coole...um-ATX-w-o-PSU

personally I don't like doors that much, I still keep trying to turn on my pc before remembering to open the door to get to the button (antec p180)
A good doorless case can look very elegent, e.g. Zalman GS1000-SE or Silverstone Fortress FT01
