    Quick Question CPU temperature

Thought I would put this in a thread by itself.
I have been sent through my overclocked bios information, and noticed that they have turned off the CPU temperature monitoring.

They are the experts, but a little worried, what is a good temperature for the system to be running at?

Tempted to turn it on for a few hours, push it, then happy to turn it off again if it is under that temperature.

Is there any benafit for turning it off, I thought it was needed to make sure you did not fry the chip.

    Regards,

    Jonathan/Molando.

I don't think there is any benefit from turning off the CPU temp monitor - but there are other temperature alarms that will turn off your system if it overheats, so you shouldn't be able to fry your CPU.

Depends on what CPU and cooling you have, and I'm sure others on here know a lot more than me.
I have an Akasa Freedom Tower CPU cooler, and my Core i5 750 @ 3.8ghz reaches about 75 degrees under full load. At idle it's below 40 degrees.

I think CPUs can take up to 100 degrees under load, so make sure it's a safe margin from that.

    Hope this helps!
