Question Fan controllers for a DAW?

I'm thinking about adding a temperature-sensing fan controller module to a 3XS DAW config.

    Perhaps one of these:

    How useful would this be?
    Have you used one?
    What do you think?
    Am I getting carried away?

    Interesting, if true.

Re: Fan controllers for a DAW?

The way I design the audio range, I wouldn't advise trying to intrigrate further controllers. The fans are all silent low rpm designs from the off and they are restricted further within the build itself by voltage controller cables. The standard set up is 1000rpm on the heatsink voltage controlled by the bios and the fan on the front is restricted to 600rpm and the rear is restricted to 800rpm.

Even under load with it sat on your desk you shouldn't be able to hear the fans so fitting the extra controllers won't really gain you anything as far as noise reduction goes and you'd run the risk of upsetting the tempture balance in the system. I design them to go in the kind of studio where you simple fit and forget the computer itself as it should be a tool and nothing else in the music making process.

"Fit and forget" works for me - thank you, Pete.

I'll answer my own question: "Am I getting carried away? " Yes, a bit.
