How to add more Hard Drives

Hi All,

I have a 3XS system from SCAN that I couldn't be happier with. I've just had to do a fresh install and in the process I thought that I'd add one more hard drive that I had laying around.

My current set up is a 500GB system drive and 2 - 750GB storage drives in Raid 0.

I just wanted to add a single drive for music and non-work stuff, but after installing, the OS doesn't recognise it in the Device Manager and Disc Managment.

I've pressed Ctrl+I during the boot process to get in to the RAID program, but it didn't see it in there either... BIOS is blind as well.

I'm sure it's plugged in properly, and I'm a bit stumped now.

Any ideas from anyone would be great!

You should be using SATA ports 1 and 2, go into your BIOS and disable RAID for SATA Port 3 and the recurring others if needed, leave the ports you are using for RAID.
It will now display in the BIOS the next time you boot it up. Then in Windows you can right click Computer in the Start Menu then go to Manage -> Disk Management -> Quick Format on your new drive.

Your BIOS won't be able to see hard drives that are raided, you won't need to RAID this new hard drive either.
