    New 3xs Build Suggestions

    Hello everyone,

Last night my 5 year old dell died on me.

I have a budget of £1250, the only thing that I think I would like to have in the pc is a SSD.

The main issue for me is stability I would like the pc to be as stable as possible, after hearing from some people on these forums with some problems which I think is mainly to do with the motherboard. I guess this would mean having a stable motherboard which you guys would know more about.

I would like to thank everyone in advance and hopefully be able to come to a decision and order the pc tonight

    Re: New 3xs Build Suggestions

No worries stability wise if from 3XS - not in their interest to send out something that will cost them a warranty claim.

What may be an intriguing combination that doesn’t seem to have been tried very much would be a Xeon E5620 in place of a regular 1366 i7; the E5620 is 32nm vs. 45nm and has a TDP of 80W vs. 130W so should run cooler and quieter etc. and from what I have read will still clock up to 4.xGHz despite the 2.4GHz stock speed (maybe 220x19 for 4.18?). On the downside it is £50 more expensive but I would certainly think about it, especially if going for a smaller case.
