    Question Sandy bridge motherboards

    Hi,

I'm about to order a 3XS P67 Performance GTK system, but was curious about why the Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3 is the only motherboard available.

It seems to be a much lower spec compared to the Asus P8P67.

Is there a reason that the Asus board is not suitable for this setup, or for picking the Gigabyte instead of the Asus?

I've not found any detailed reviews of the Gigabyte, but the reviews of the Asus have been good.

    Thanks for any advice,
    Zadj

Thumbs up Re: Sandy bridge motherboards

    Ok...

It seems someone in Scan was thinking the same as I was, as the Asus board is now available.

I read your post earlier this morning and as it was already on test we added it to the configurator but things got so manic today forgot to reply

    Re: Sandy bridge motherboards

    Thanks for the info.

I see that it is has now been removed from the configurator, is this because of an issue found during the testing? I know you added it while it was still running the tests.

If this board is not suitable, are you going to test any of the other boards like the Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3P, MSI P67A-GD55, or MSI P67A-GD65?

I was about to order it today, but I'm now unsure about what to do.

    Thanks

    Re: Sandy bridge motherboards

I'd also be interested in other options for Sandy bridge motherboards.

I'd also be interested in why the Asus failed, assuming it did. If it was withdrawn for other reasons, like lack of supply, I'd also be interested.

    Thanks

    Re: Sandy bridge motherboards

On other forums, Asus is failing lots.

    Edit:

However, saying that Asus is releasing a lot of bios updates so they bound to get it right soon.

    Re: Sandy bridge motherboards

    hello to hexus forum

Its really very interesting that they have not added the asus one yet.

I've got it and I've now managed to get its fully up and running, however I've had to do 2 bios updates and set my mem voltage in the bios. ( Useing Corsair Dominator @ 1.65 but I'm thinking of changing to Vengeance @ 1.5)

The board is very good and it got a good review in custom pc, with some good over-clocking options.
The bios is also pretty easy to use.

I'd say wait until they iron out the bugs, if they end up including it all

    Re: Sandy bridge motherboards

Thought id post this on here as ive had 65 views on my thread but no one would help and the scan team seem to reply when someone is asking on how to spend there money.

In October 2010 i purchased a Radius - Intel Core i3 540 - Overclocked Bundle - Overclocked to 4.4Ghz it has been running fine no problems until yesturday when i restarted my pc it showed up a message saying that the overclock had failed. I turned it off and on still same message but it also said press f2 to restart with defaults, i did that and its runnning fine again but i have lost the overclock. Ive read that the settings are saved in the bios. So if anyone could help me get my overclock back would be much appreciated thankyou

    Re: Sandy bridge motherboards

You'll have to re setup your over-clocking in the bios, I'd contact your retailer and let them tell you the settings and go from there. (They may have a saved profile)

There are sometimes important reasons why your over clocked failed though, so check your pc as best you can.

Heat or voltages would cause a MB to fail an overclock

    dust
    fans
    air flow
    voltages
    mem
    etc

or you could some random event that upset your mb

I'd check the pc, restore the OC and then tested the hell out it
