I seem to be having an issue with my new 3XS PC (E1586961) as it has frozen on multiple occasions since I first booted it up a few days ago. Freezing seems to occur randomly but has only once occurred when the system has been under any sort of load, the other 4 times have been when the system was idle or with casual web browsing. The screen locks up, yet there is still power to the mouse/bluray tray etc and any sound that was currently playing is looped, and the system requires a hard shut down. On reboot windows error logs show nothing out of the ordinary, other than the system experienced an unexpected shutdown.

I had a quick look online a found a possible link between win7 64 bit, nvidea drivers and AVG (antivirus) 32 bit causing a similar sounding system freeze. I uninstalled AVG but this did not solve the problem.

Possibly related is that sometimes after a normal shutdown, the PC refuses to turn on. There is a lit LED on the mobo but the power button does nothing. Switching the PSU (a CORSAIR 600W) off and on didn't help and it was only after I removed the cable from the power socket, wait 5 mins, and retry did it power up again. Could this be down to a faulty PSU/fuse?

Thanks,

Phil
