    Unhappy Unable to power on 3XS laptop

    Hello guys,

    I purchased a 3XS gaming laptop (17.3" Clevo P170EM 7970 6235), which arrived yesterday. After spending the day getting it set up, I closed it down last night. This morning, I am unable to get it to power on.

    I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice. The laptop is fully charged and the battery LED is solid green, indicating a full charge. The power LED is solid orange, indicating that a power source is connected.

    When I press the power button, the battery and power LEDs flash green for a moment, then turn off and return to the green/orange state mentioned above. I assume powering on is just a case of pressing or holding the power button, which I've tried numerous times to no avail. If I hold the power button down, the battery LED goes off and the power LED blinks green. There's also a faint clicking sound that accompanies the blinking power LED when I'm holding down the power button. I've tried removing the battery several times as well as trying to power it up with the mains power connected and disconnected.

    The power button is functioning as I can press the function key and power button at the same time to toggle the USB powered ports (which makes the power LED blink orange).

    I'm thinking that something is screwed, but just thought I'd post here in case anyone has any advice. Any tips or suggestions gratefully received. I've tried calling Scan Tech Support, but can't get through (I assume they're closed at the weekend). Proper gutted as I bought this laptop for a trip I'm taking in 2 weeks, and I'm now worried it will be repairing and I'll be without it for my trip

    Hi Joe

    We are sorry to hear of the issues and advise you take the battery out for a half hour and disconnect from the mains, if that doesn't work email us at systemsupport@scan.co.uk your invoice / build number and we will collect and look at the laptop as a priority and get it back to you before you go away

    Thanks Ben. Much appreciated. I've taken the laptop battery out, and will try it again in 30 mins. I'll post the results here shortly. If it needs to be returned to you, when is it likely to be collected? I'm just very concerned about times as I leave first thing on the morning of Thursday 28th March.

    We can arrange to collect it Monday we will look into this as soon as we are in on Monday , if you provide a collection address if its another address you want it collected from that's fine

    Hi Ben,

    That's great, thanks. The delivery address is fine, as that's also my home address. Just to confirm, you're going to arrange the collection on Monday rather than collect on Monday? Just need to make sure so I have it packaged up ready.
