    Faulty Intel DQ35JO Motherboard

My motherboard sound seems dead. The board is 16 months old. Would I receive an immediate replacement or would you have to send it to the supplier? Thanks.

It would be returned to the supplier for repair / replacement.

In that case I will bin the motherboard. I have been through this procedure before. You either get the same board back unrepaired, or another faulty board.

Or you can stop buying Intel motherboards...

I have had problems with other boards with RealTek sound if you unplug the PSU and power on the computer to discharge it that might fix your sound when you plug it back in.

Thanks, tried that but to no avail. Was looking on the Intel site and noticed they had "live chat". Chatted to someone who immediately arranged a replacement board with collection at their cost.

I don't normally buy Intel boards but this board had some very useful features like Intel Active management and TPM which I needed.

Intel are supposed to be pretty damn good on motherboard replacement, provided you've not damaged it.
