    Unhappy 4870x2 Died - 11 months, 21 days old

    Anyone know what the coverage period is by Scan? PowerColor seems to not be able to respond to me at all... The device will be 12 months old on the 21st of this month and I'd obviously like to get things sorted in advance of that date since it will probably be a bigger hassle after (if that is possible).

    Did the returns function via the website but no luck so far.

    As for my issue - graphics corruption (little dots and things) at boot up sometimes or in the BIOS screen. Windows will boot up sometimes, but more often then not it BSOD's with some ATIKMDAG.SYS error. Was working just fine for 11 months then this started happening - have tested on my machine (not overclocked 6600 in a P5W-DH with Corsair TX850) as well as another machine here with a 1kw PSU and they both have the same problem.

    I'll ask someone to move this into the correct area - as it's for a component, not a built 3XS system

    Well I can't check my inbox here since I've not posted enough apparently. But, I think you guys took care of it (failed POST). The RMA process could be better though, as it doesn't even tell you what has happened on the status page...as in it's replaced, but exactly with what you don't say on the site.

    Aside from that, the process seems good with you guys (well I can say when card comes tomorrow, whatever that card may be).

    I was sent a used replacement which has even worse problems than the first one. POST corruption is much more severe and it BSODs when you try to boot into Windows. Do you test cards out before sending them? It costs like £20 each time a person has to return an item...

    It would be normal for us to send a repaired or refurbished replacement for any item returned outside of 28 days from the original invoice date.

    The replacement should have been Q/A'd before being shipped to us as a replacement from our suppliers. We do not always test replacements before shipping unless it is specifically requested.

    I am sorry to hear the problems you have had with your replacement if you could please provide details with regards to the problem via the following link we will issue an RMA and arrange collection for the card to be returned and tested:

    Thanks, Mark. I did that form just before posting my reply earlier today. My username here is similar-ish to the name on my RMA. I take it for invoice I just use the one from the original order a year ago? I never received emails with a new invoice anyway, so that is what I've done. I'd definitely prefer for the replacement to the replacement to be tested, this one has very obvious errors and I'm out of the country on training next week anyway...

    I suggest you try using parcel2go or someone similar who have good rates.

    On the two occasions I have recently had to do it, I asked the couriers via my workplace to do it, and paid them the relevant amount. About 70% cheaper than what you mentioned. Even parcel2go offer delivery options for 60% cheaper than what you quoted.
