    Faulty Graphics Card from Scan.

    Hi all this is my first post so be gentle

    I Bought a 4870x2 May this year from Scan (Good service btw), How ever yesterday I turned my PC on to be greeted by a blank screen! So I opened the case, and spotted a Red LED D7 ( No slave GPU power ).

    I have also tried putting the Graphics card in a Friends Computer but the same thing happens..

    I have created a Ticket with Scan support via Email, but Im yet to hear from them.

    I havent ever had to RMA anything, and Im not sure what needs tobe done, so and help/info will be greatly appreciated.

    If you are confident that its faulty then ask them to pick it up so you don't have to pay for a courier.
    Beware tho, there are NFF and carriage charges applied if they cannot find a fault.

    They will supply RMA number and return address so you can address the item.
    Be sure to pacakge it up securely too as you could be liable for damage in transit due to poor return packaging.

    Hi David, thanks for replying, Thats what I did 3 days ago, but im still to hear ? Is it best to call scan directly? I really need to sort the RMA out as soon as possible.

    Hi dave managed to get the RMA sorted 06/11/09 looks like it arrived sate and sound.

    For some reason I cannot PM you, cant see the option anywhere.

    Anyway on the RMA tracking its telling me fault found / Replacement. Any ideas when this will be send out to me? and what card they are replacing it with? Invoice - 00E1251620

    Usually they will replace it with the same card. I'm haven't RMA'd anything to Scan so I can't comment on how long it takes but usually once they have found a fault they will attempt to send you a replacement as soon as possible. If there is no identical replacement they tend to offer you a choice of the same product, I think sometimes if you opt for a more expensive version, you pay the difference, if you opt for a cheaper one, they might pay you the difference. However, I am not totally sure about the difference paying thing, I've only heard about it. If there are no replacements at all however, they refund the amount it cost.
