I recently bought via E-Bay two SSD drives, before I bought them I made sure that the seller had proper paperwork to support the warranty and he did from Scan, the paperwork (and it's the original proper invoices) shows the drives were bought mid last year.
One of the drives has failed so I E-Mailed Scan to ask them how I should proceed, the response I received was that it was only the original purchaser who Scan would process the warranty for.
So what Scan want to have happen is....
I ship the drive I've payed for back to the guy I bought it from, he then ships it to Scan, Scan then return it to him, he sends it back to me.
Not withstanding the extra unnecessary and pointless shipping costs (we are trying to be green here aren't we) I have to hope the original buyer sends it back to me.
Not very practical or sensible really, so guys, in future if you're buying second hand make sure you don't get an item that was sourced from Scan, even if you get the original paperwork they'll not be very interested.
