I've had a few problems in the past with Scan where I've been sent used and sometimes used/faulty products. It appears to have happened again, although I am not too sure.

I ordered an MSI HAWK 5770 and it arrived today. However, the box is extremely battered and torn in places. In addition, the accessories inside the box were not in the appropriate slots etc and the pack containing the driver CD was already open.

There is also a whitish residue all over the back of the card (very thin layer, barely visible).

All of this leads me to believe the card has been used before, there are similarities to when I was sent a faulty used Asus R2E.

I called Scan about this, and they tracked the card's history for me. I was told the card has only just been sent to them and was invoiced to me days later. However, isn't it possible the supplier (MSI?) received this card as an RMA and sent this on to Scan by mistake or something?

I'm still testing the card, so I can't tell right now if there are any big problems.
